In 1948, TANAC Tannin Unit started producing black wattle vegetable extracts in Montenegro, in the Brazilian southern-most state of Rio Grande do Sul. It’s output is directed to the leather industry, for drinking water and industrial effluent treatment and also drilling mud conditioners, wood adhesives among other applications. Approximately 350 employees work at this unit located on an 8-hectare, fully wooded area alonside Caí River.
The Tannin Unit Quality and Environmental Management Systems are ISO 9001 and 14001 certified, thus ensuring the quality of the company's products and services and environmental preservation in the conduction of its activities.
TANAC tannins carry the FSC® seal which certifies the origin of the raw material used as being from quality source from its origin.
Internationally renowned, TANAC tannins are exported to over 75 countries in the five continents.
