As part of the project "Management, conservation and restoration of forests in the Atlantic Forest biome" developed in partnership by TANAC/TANAGRO and WWF Brazil, on thfe 24th the planting of native seedlings took place in the Tavaí Indigenous Village, in the district of Cristal, Rio Grande do Sul.

Continuing the implementation of the Project, the site was chosen because of the great historical, social and environmental value, since the Village is bordered by the Camaquã River and is located in an area of 252ha of land within the Bento Gonçalves Park.

The event had a talk about indigenous culture, artistic presentation and the planting of native seedlings, to recover the native vegetation of the place and use as raw material for handicrafts. Later, 2250 seedlings will be planted.

Approximately 90 people participated, including local authorities, members of the Camaquã River Basin Committee, extension agents from EMATER-RS, agricultural schools in the region, and representatives from WWF-Brazil and TANAC/TANAGRO.
